If you devote your life to knowing yourself, its your brain that you will discover.Simply put,I'm a passive aggressive with alot of mania,a bit bi-polar and manic depressive, with a touch of psychosis added to false memories created by dreams of my feelings in the future, appearing as scitzophrenia. All the while recalling past lives, having had 12 alien experiences, obe's,and of course remembering being in my mothers womb as well as making the deals before I came back. It's like being the opposite of retarded. And as Dennis Hopper said to Chris Walken in true romance,"now tell me,am I lyen?"Anyway,im just a regular guy,its a wonder i can do anything. If i wear a blue shirt and a bow tie can i come on your show, and be the expert and the famous guy of anything and everything?Or should I go back to my space?Where are the intellectuals?at starbucks?I only see bumbs there taking sink showers.Even so, i only ever see a bunch of people clapping.Whats really going on?Go around and around the world to see everyone running around, doing "errands."

Charlie,

You and your team of brilliant minds have dealt with the subject of the developing brain, the aging brain, the emotional brain, the anxious mind, the mentally ill brain, the disordered brain, the deciding brain, the artistic brain and the science of the mind.

My question is a simple one. When are you going to deal with the subject of the encultured brain? After all brain is a physical organ like the heart is also a physical organ, but neural wiring and rewiring inside of our brains is the work of culture: Language, family, religion, rituals, customs, school, college, university, media, television, and whole lot of life experiences. "It implies a two-way traffic," says Michael Merznich, a leading neuroscientist of our times, "that the brain and genetics produce culture, but culture also shapes the brain."

I hear scientists telling us that while the DNA content of all humans living on this planet is 99.6 percent the same, the Creator does not seem to have inserted a single gene among 25,000 genes in the human gene pool that predisposes humans to acquire and master skills in reading, writing, and arithmetic. I have read in some books that genetics did not predispose humanity to invent skills in reading, writing, and arithmetic, but the brain's plasticity allowed humanity "to create an artificial environment for itself so that it could teach itself skills in reading, writing and arithmetic" (Stanislas Dehaene). In other words, brain's capacity at adaptation, organization and reorganization has made us who we are today. Ironically, we have reached the current stage in human evolution precisely by mastering skills in reading, writing, and aritmetic when modern day scientists are trying to change our very biology by manipulating genes abd by inserting chips into out brains.

Bring this team of brilliant minds on this planet (add few others) back on your show and educate us as to where this brain is taking us in the future. Ray Kurzweil is talking about humans entering into the "age of singularity" when the intelligence of machines invented by human brains and human ingenuity is going to outsmart human intelligence billions of times? Are we going to remain human beings hundred years from now? Stephen Hawking is saying that in future human genetic engineering may replace human biological reproduction when scientists start redesigning the human race.
